Timor-Leste - Raimutin

This washed coffee has been selected for its nutty characteristic complemented by a nectarine and date sweetness. This bright cup is a delicious pourover but is being used as Espresso for milk based drinks.

Timor-Leste is a young country having gained independence from Indonesia in 2002. Volcanic soils and high altitude mountains combine to make an excellent growing region for coffee. A range of smallholder farms have been producing in the region for generations.

Cherries are sorted by floating ripe cherries before being pulped and fermented for 24 hours which gives a richness to the coffee. Coffee is hand sorted further before being dried on raised beds.

Raw Material (importer) are working to support Timor-Leste growing communities as well as government supported growers by engaging in research and implementation of new growing technologies. They are also supporting local communities through health initiatives and by ensuring fair pay at all levels of the supply chain.
