This is a delightful example of a coffee from the famous volcanic region of Huila. The roast has notes of caramel and chocolate with a bright red berry acidity. The coffee is a fantastic bean for espresso lovers but is lovely in a rich smooth cup of filter brew.
The quality conscious farmers of the Huila region are pioneers in using innovative agricultural techniques to ensure the best crop, best selection and best practises for sustainability. The volcanic mountains offer a rich terroir for growing excellent coffee plants. This is one of the reasons Huila coffee attributes to 18% of Columbian coffee production. This regions favors micro-lots for single origin coffee.
This is a washed coffee, which means the cherries are pulped and washed prior to drying. This results in a clean and fresh experience in the cup.
