Yemen - Al Hayma & Anis Decaf 200g

This light cup has floral notes, with notes of grape, raspberry and bright lemon acidity. This decaffeinated coffee may be different to many due to the lightness and brightness. Speciality coffee is really progressing in decaffeination processes, and this bean is a fantastic example of how decaf can be excellent.

This coffee is different from any decaf we have tried. Its sourced from a collective of smallholders in Al Hayma and Anis. With high altitudes, the growing region is one of the larger producers in the country and continuously produces exceptional coffee.

The CO2 process involves pumping pressurised CO2 across water soaked beans, which selectively removes the caffeine. The caffeine can then be re-used for pharmacutical purposes and the CO2 can be re-used for further batches. The process is considered sustainable and is more gentle than other chemical methods which allows the bean to its original characteristic.
